Enjoy the Little Things in Life
Whether it’s that first sip of a fresh cup of coffee in the morning, a walk in the park on a sunny day, or just 10 minutes of peace before everyone comes home – I urge you to take the time to be in the present moment and enjoy it.
Our lives are typically nonstop. We are constantly jumping from one commitment to the other throughout the day. This rarely leaves us with a moment to ourselves.
And if we do have a spare moment, what do we usually do with that time? Scrolling through social media, where there is content overload. This just adds to the nonstop nature and feeling that we must always be on. Constantly looking ahead to what comes next.
I’ve spoken in the past about taking a day of rest. Doing so can actually re-energize you and make you more productive for the week ahead instead of setting you back.
Try to just take 10 minutes to yourself each day. For example, no matter how busy I know my day is going to be, I always take 10 to 15 minutes to sit down on the couch and drink my morning cup of coffee. These days I drink coffee more for enjoyment than the caffeine. Sitting down in peace and quiet is usually the highlight of my morning and something to look forward to.
What is something that you can do for 10 minutes – at any time of the day – to stop, be in the present moment, and enjoy the little things in life?
